Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday dismissed the reference against the 35 members of the Punjab Assembly over dual nationality.
Per details, the members of Punjab Assembly have submitted affidavits with the election commission that they don’t hold dual nationalities. During hearing of a reference ‚ the MPs appeared before the commission in person and submitted their affidavits. However‚ the petitioner Asif Aizdi requested the election commission to hold independent inquiries into their cases and check their passport.
Later the election commission dismissed the reference against the 35 members of Punjab Assembly.
