Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday said if he had not ended the sit-in in Islamabad, martial law would have been imposed in the country within the next five minutes.
Addressing the Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Qadri announced that the next phase of his march would begin soon, adding that it would be countrywide, and tens of thousands of people would come out of their homes to get rid of the corrupt politicians.
He said he would not allow thieves to come into power in the name of democracy. “Corrupt politicians have been robbing the country for the last 65 years,” he said. Qadri added that he was in favour of a new South Punjab province, but “new provinces should not be formed on the basis of political aspirations”. “A referendum should be conducted to know the wishes of the people of south Punjab regarding the formation of a new province,” Qadri said.
Regarding contesting elections, Qadri said his party was going to conduct a survey at the union council level to know whether people wanted his party to contest the upcoming general election. He said he had received the mandate, but a decision would be taken after conducting the survey. He said that he had retired from the post of PAT president.
He said he did not want elections to be delayed in the country, adding that he could not see corrupt politicians get re-elected through a “fake election process”.

  1. Money of Charity organisation is openly being spend on political comeback! do what you preach to others. There is no doubt you are saying right about corrupt political process and outcome! This is also dishonesty to spend donated money on political stage!

Muzafar Warsi rightly written about Dr Tahir ,"you want to be Khomeni but want to live as Raza Pehlvi!
That sums up everything. You are in absolutely sham impression that even in a fair election you have any chance of winning more than one seat!

  2. I was always suspicious of his mental health, but his recent activities have convinced me that he must undergo a psychiatric evaluation, seriously.

  3. I believe Change will com, whoever may lead that Change, whether it be qadri saab, or imran khan, or musharaf or any combination 😀
    I will support The Change

    • Change, whether it be qadri saab, or imran khan, or musharaf or any combination

In other words, you expect no change (or change for the worst) 🙂

  4. Dr. Tahirul Qadri's claim is nothing but rubbish. He must go through a psychiatric examination to assess his mental health.
