The Islamabad High Court on Thursday directed the trial court to re-examine the bail application of former haj director general Rao Shakeel Ahmed within three days.
A single member IHC Bench comprising Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi conducted the proceedings of Shakeel’s bail plea filed by his counsel Ahsan-ud-Din.
Ahsan apprised the Bench that his client had applied for a post-arrest bail before the Rawalpindi Central Special Judge, which had been dismissed on October 17. He contended that the dismissal was against the law.
He informed the Bench that the investigation against his client had been completed and nothing had been recovered from him. He said continuing Shakeel’s detention would not serve any end.
Justice Kasi ordered the trial court to re-evaluate the application within three days.
