The commission probing the Lal Masjid incident has summoned former president General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz to appear before it in the second week of February. Meanwhile on Thursday, PML-Q President Shujaat Hussain, former minister for religious affairs Ijazul Haq and former information minister Tariq Azeem appeared before the commission and got their statements recorded while Muhammad Ali Durrani who had also been summoned on Thursday requested to appear before the commission on Friday (today). The commission has also summoned Sumaira Malik, Wajahat Hussain, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Begum Bilqis Edhi, Aftab Sherpao, Javed Ashraf Qazi, Aneesa Zaib Tahirkheili, Zafar Iqbal Warrich, Talha Mehmood, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Liaquat Baloch, Shah Abdul Aziz, on February 1, while on February 2, it has summoned Sardar Asmatullah, Sajid Ilyas Bhatti, Raja Khalid Ismail Abbasi, Syed Intizar Mehdi Shah, Taufiq Asif, Malik Waheed Anjum.The commission has also decided to summon clerics, who helped in negotiations between the government and the management of Lal Masjid, the then and current state functionaries concerned, including Musharraf and Aziz and reporters in the second week of February.
