Lahore High Court has admitted a plea against the formation of new province on Thursday.

Azhar Siddique, counsel of the petitioner took the stance before the Lahore High Court that the commission formed by the Speaker National Assembly for the creation of new province was unconstitutional.

He further told the court that the commission has no authority to decide about the new province and only the people of the province have the mandate to take any decision in this regard.

The petitioner pleaded the court to declare the commission illegal and issue the stay order against the creation of new province.
