LAHORE – A seven member Taiwanese relief team has arrived in Pakistan to visit the flood affected areas from February 25 to 27 in Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan districts.
CLAP Trust Pakistan Secretary General Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz announced the arrival news during a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Thursday. Al-Mustafa Welfare Society Head Mian Khalid Habib Elahi, Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Executive Director Debi Fan and Taiwanese relief team members Yu-Fang, Philip Chen, Frank Chun Chang and Rebecca Wang were also present at the occasion.
Fayyaz said that Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation and Taiwanese government have donated $ 50000 cash and 100,000 kg rice. He said 50,000 kg rice will be distributed in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, whereas 50,000 kg rice will be distributed among Southern Punjab and Balochistan’s affected families. He added that food items will be distributed under the supervision of the Taiwanese delegation.
Fayyaz further said that CLAP Trust will set up a free plastic surgery camp in Dera Ghazi Khan where 100 cleft lip and cleft palate patients will be operated.
Elahi announced that Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust International will construct 50 houses for flood affected families and the first housing project ‘Basti Meranwala’ will be completed by March 31-2011 at Kot Addu.
