Laptop scheme to take the country on road to progress: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the laptop scheme initiated by the Punjab government with a sum of Rs 8 billion would provide opportunities to male and female students and the province would embark on a road to progress and innovation.
Addressing a laptop distribution ceremony, the chief minister said that the national economy had been destroyed by corruption of the current government.
Furthermore, he expressed the hope that male and female students through the use of laptops would find the formula for elimination of corruption, development of agriculture and strengthening of national economy.
Moreover, Shahbaz said that President Asif Ali Zardari was looking for ways to postpone elections. Moreover, Shahbaz said that Zardari’s government had given nothing but corruption and darkness to the country.
He expressed confidence in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chances in the upcoming general elections and said that after winning in the elections, PML-N would recover every penny that had been lost due to corruption.
Furthermore, he said that Ujala programme of providing solar energy lamps had been initiated for thousands of students who fulfilled the demands of merit. The chief minister also announced provision of five thousand laptops to PhD students and the teachers supervising them. Shahbaz said that the laptops and solar energy lamps were being distributed among talented male and female students studying in Punjab without discrimination of them being Siraiki, Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi or Pathan. He said that besides laptop scheme, Punjab government had also set up Information Technology University which would further lead to innovation in the country.
