After the outbreak of measles epidemic, the army, along with other government organisations, also took swift action and dispatched free medical camps to the far flung areas of Sindh, an Inter Services Public Relations statement (ISPR) said on Monday.
The statement said medical teams with all the necessary medicines, staff and equipment reached the affected remote areas of Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Badin and treated children and adults.
“Besides administering the measles vaccine to children, medical treatment was extended to all,” he said.
“People thronged these camps and received the required medication. About 20, 000 children have been administered measles vaccine and treated for other diseases, and 12, 000 adults have been treated and provided with free medicines so far,” the statement said.
The ISPR statement added that these free medical camps were working from the past one month and the army would continue to help out the people in distress.
