The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday said it seeks implementation of its order against former ambassador of Pakistan to the US, Hussain Haqqani to appear before the bench, adding it does not know about the threats to his life.
Appearing before the nine-member SC’s bench, Haqqani’s Counsel Asma Jahangir informed the bench that her client declined to come back to Pakistan over security concerns.
According to a private television channel, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry, heading the bench, queried as to what could be made out of it if someone does not appear before the court despite the repeated order, noting coercive methods will have to be adopted to bring him back.
The bench comprises Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Tariq Pervez, Justice Aijaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.
It should be mentioned here that the apex court provided several opportunities to former ambassador Haqqani to defend himself before the bench; however, he has refused to come back to Pakistan.
Responding to the CJP’s remarks that Haqqani will be forced to come back, Asma retorted, “Do whatever you have to do. I cannot personally go abroad to bring him back,” adding that her client is receiving threats on social medi, she demanded foreign and interior ministries to probe these threats.
The court, adjourning the hearing till February 12, directed Interior Secretary to appear before the court during the next hearing to brief the court about the action taken up in response to Asma Jahangir’s letter dated December 31.
It has become our national charater to waste time on useless matters, and at the same time complain of being over-worked. The only option left with us in this case is to issue binding orders to the US Secretary of State, or US President, for that matter to impelement our sacared orders and force Haqqani out of their land.
Run away bride and groom .After enjoying their honeymoon period on national offcies and expenses now they are enjoying US life.Why they would appear on courts.Asama Jahangir is there to present or defend them.

and why court still so naive to think that he will ever appear in court? Its same court that allowed this scum to leave the country at the first place. Its only a cover up and waste of public money, Army should have atleast some teeth to defend itself and stand its ground when defending against such characters, without their willingness he wouldnt have left the country. If we punish such characters now, we will have less of this kind in the future.

Just confiscate any assets he has in Pakistan including his accounts or under his spouse name . That is the way it will be done in the western world.
There is also mistake on part of SC. Before they let him leave the country, why did not he was asked to present a surety bond , say five or ten million dollars?
Why would anyone want to go back to that radical political atmosphere where the SC abuses its power to attack the current ambassador for Blasphemy and the former ambassador for hearsay gossip…he has made it out of that hell hole and he should never look back…
