Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that PPP government has carried out record development in Sindh and provided jobs to thousands of unemployed educated youth.
He said this in a statement issued here on Thursday. He said the Sindh government had lunched number of mega projects to provide relief/facilities to the poor masses of Sindh. Besides, the Sindh government had launched Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) to address chronic unemployment through skill development of the unemployed educated youth. The minister said under this programme, the government had provided training and stipends to 104,174 children and another 117,274 were under training out of them 31.5 percent of trained youth are women.
Sharjeel Memon said: “The World Bank has given soft grant of US$ 16 million for training of 45,000 youths and Japan Social Development Fund has given grant of US$ 3 million for training of 5,000 youth.
The provincial minister said 13,540 women had been trained by NCHD in market-based stitching, 6,700 women trained by livestock department as livestock workers while 6,021 women had been trained in ICT trades.
He said STEVTA as technical institute had been providing modern trainings to the youth of province. High-tech training institute has been started in district Benazirabad in collaborations with Pakistan Airforce, he concluded.
