Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq has said that the Sindh Education Department is set to introduce a law that will restrict the practice of transfer of teachers to vacations. The senior minister said that the purpose of this law is not to disturb the education schedule of the students. The senior minister said this at Government Degree Girls College Metroville SITE Karachi where he was the chief guest at the launching ceremony of Koonj magazine on Monday. He said that the government believed in empowerment of the women and was trying to provide transport to female teachers and students in remote areas as well as in cities. He announced that the shortage of teachers, furniture and necessary equipment would also be ended to overcome the difficulties. Pir Mazhar directed Director General of Colleges to provide four computers to government Degree Girls College SITE Karachi. He also directed engineer education works to built eight feet boundary wall around the college in order to provide safety to the female students and staff members. He said that interference in certain matters in education department had affected the performance of the department. He further said that illiteracy bred ignorance while education created peace, and it was very essential that women should be empowered in terms of education. He said that books should also be given to the college libraries. On this occasion Provincial Minister Nadeem Ahmed Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) local leader Mujeebur Rahman, Director College Dr Nasir Ansar, college principal Sher Bano Kaka and others also spoke on the occasion.
