Lahore – Veteran medical educationist Professor Arif Rashid Khawaja addressed a workshop on “Presentation Skills” at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Tuesday. The two day workshop was organized by UHS Centre for Innovative Learning and Teaching (CILT). More than 60 faculty members from private and public medical colleges attended the workshop.
Khawaja said, “Medical teaching has more to offer to students than mere ideas and data. It calls for direct contact with students, effective use of language, capability to use limited time effectively and an ability to be entertaining”. He said that lectures were the most popular form of teaching in medical education. “Though preparation and organization are key factors of a lecture’s success, the actual presentation depends on the presenter’s ability to reach the audience”, he added.
