Girl among eight killed in Karachi violence

As many as eight people, including a girl and three clerics, were killed on Friday, police said.
Unidentified assailants shot dead two brothers near Lasbela Chowk in the Gulbahar police precincts. The station house officer said that the victims were identified as Muhammad Ikhlaq, 40, and Muhammad Irshad, 46. “Both were brothers and tableegi activists in the area. It will be premature to declare it sectarian killing until and unless investigation completes,” the SHO said. Separately, another two people, including a driver of Idara Khatam-e-Nabuwat were gunned down on New MA Jinnah Road. Jamsheed Quarters police SHO Inayatullah said that two people were killed by armed gunmen near Islamia College. He said the deceased were identified as Muhammad Ajmal, 25, son of Raheem Bakht; and Kamal Shah, 35, son of Muhammad Raza. He said Kamal Shah was the driver of Idara Khatam-e-Nabuwat.
Meanwhile, two people, including a girl, were killed in a house in DHA Phase-II. Baloch Colony police SHO said that witnesses said they came out of their houses after hearing gunshots they found Waqas, 23, son of Abdul Rehman and Madiha, 18, daughter of Raaz Muhammad in a pool of blood. He said that both victims were cousins. However, the motive behind their murder could not be ascertained so far. “It can be a result of personal enmity,” he added. Separately, a 30-year-old man was killed in Urdu Bazaar in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. SHO Imdad Ali Khawaja said that the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi. However, the body could not be identified so far. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified armed men on Suparco Road, Baldia Town. Maripur police SHO Iftikhar Hussain said that the identity of the body could not be confirmed so far.
