Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued fresh notices to the parties and sought reply by January 25 over the petition filed for strict action against doctors who had assaulted their senior in Gujranwala.
Justice Ijazul Hassan refused to issue interim order against the young doctors and remarked that the court could not issue order without hearing arguments of both the parties.
Azhar Hussain, in his petition, had pleaded to cancel the licenses of doctors who were observing a strike till next court orders.
No representative of PMDC and Attorney General appeared before the court.
Justice Ijazul Hassan issued fresh notices and put off the hearing till January 25.
Young Doctors Association (YDA) had been observing a strike despite the imposition of the Essential Services Act by the Health Department.
The YDA office-bearers, however, announced continuation of the protest till the acceptance of their demands.
They have also asked for an impartial inquiry into the incident relating to the torture of the Gujranwala DHQ Hospital medical superintendent and senior medics by young doctors.

  1. Here in USA, state govt has the power to cancel medical licenses of medical doctors.
Then doctor can challenge that decision in the court. Then court can give final decision. Most of the time ,state wins.
Keeping in mind, present strike in public hosp and behavior of these doctors, their licenses must be cancelled in addition to termination of their jobs.
Employer always has the upper hand, which in this case is health dept of Punjab.

I do not know what is the reason that they have not taken any action which is not in the interest of citizen of Punjab.By the way the doctors in Gujranwala case must be prosecuted because if you let this kind of behavior go unpunished then history will repeat itself.
