ISLAMABAD – PML-Q MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram Tuesday held the Punjab government responsible for supporting terrorist outfits and patronizing elements from the banned organisations. Speaking on a point of order, the MNA form Jhang claimed the rulers of the Punjab were working in collaboration with terrorist elements.
He urged the government to prevent a banned organisation from holding a public gathering in Jhang on February 25. He said no banned outfit should be given a free hand to hold a public gathering. Shikeh Waqas said he had written a letter to the Punjab chief minister, requesting him to stop the banned organisation from holding a public gathering.
He lamented despite his request, the activists of the banned outfit were erecting hoardings across Jhang which carried the names and photographs of those whose names had been included in the schedule 4. He wondered why the Punjab administration was working with the terrorist organisations secretly, adding this attitude could jeopardize the peace of the entire country.
He said if the outfit was allowed to hold the gathering, it would reflect a link between the Punjab government and terroristsMeanwhile, PPP legislator from FATA, Akhunzada Chattan, staged a walkout from the National Assembly in protest against drone attacks in the tribal areas.
