A petition was filed in the Supreme Court’s (SC) Karachi registry by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) seeking exemption of the party chief Altaf Hussain from appearing in contempt of court hearing scheduled for January 7.
Earlier on December 14, Altaf Hussain and MQM deputy convener Farooq Sattar were served with contempt notices for derogatory remarks against SC judges in a hearing of Karachi law and order case.
The chief justice had said that the text of the speech made by Hussain was offensive, threatening and an attempt to obstruct justice.

  1. Altaf Hussain is a coward like a mouse hiding in Lindon. What kind of leader is he. If he has the courage and means well for Pakistan, then he should come and defend himself. He will give many reasons to be away nad leave his gundas in Pakistan.
