Four separate benches of the Supreme Court will hear important cases during the week starting today (Monday).
According to the cause list, cases to be heard on Monday include misappropriation and corruption in the PIA, Sindh Local Government Ordinance and action against former OGRA chairman Tauqir Sadiq.
The first Bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry (CJP) and comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh will hear the case on misappropriation and corruption in the PIA and the petition against the Sindh Local Government Ordinance on Monday . On January 1, this Bench will hear a petition against an amendment in the Army Act regarding court martial.
On January 2, the first Bench will hear appeals against the decision regarding Rental Power Plants filed by the Prime Minister and others. A full bench under the CJP will hear a case regarding the illegal allotment of the LPG quota and misuse of IB funds.
The second Bench comprising Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain will hear a case of former OGRA chairman Tauqir Sadiq on Monday.
