Police claimed on Saturday to have foiled a terrorism bid by defusing a bomb in Dera Murad Jamali area of Quetta. On being clued-up by an informant, the bomb disposal squad reached a government office, where unidentified miscreants had planted a bomb, and defused the explosive material. Meanwhile, police registered a case against unidentified criminals and have started a thorough investigation. Separately, the Frontier Constabulary (FC) recovered 150 kilograms of explosives from the Pak-Afghan border on Friday night. According to a FC spokesman, two motorcyclists dropped two bags full of explosives and fled when FC personnel signalled them to stop for routine checking. The officials took the bags into custody.
