Twenty-one of the 23 Levies personnel abducted by militants on Thursday were reportedly killed late on Saturday night. A private TV channel quoting its sources said the bodies of 21 Levies personnel were found in Peshawar FR’s Hassan Khel area. They added that authorities had confirmed the identity of 19 of the dead. The channel said political agents and tribal elders left to redeem the bodies of the martyred officials. Dozens of armed militants had attacked two security force checkposts in Peshawar with grenades and rockets two days ago. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had claimed responsibility for the attack.

  1. Another 21 precious lives, among countless other before them, have been lost at the alter of strategic depth. I am afraid the state of Pakistan and particularly Army, do not seem to be in any hurry to change the course to stop this senseless waste of human lives.

  2. This brutal, barbaric killing has been carried out by TTP, should be an eye opener for Imran Khan, Nawax Shareef and Moulana Faxlur rehman, who are staunch supporter of TTP. Army cannot eradicate this menace without a total support from all political and religious parties.
