The state of lawlessness in the country, especially in Karachi, is part of a deep-rooted conspiracy of the anti-democratic forces to postpone next general elections.
“The non-democratic elements want to postpone elections”, Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon told reporters at the Karachi airport Wednesday. He was leaving for Larkana to attend the 5thdeath anniversary of late PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
Also Central Deputy Secretary Information of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, Sharjeel, said the people of Pakistan would spoil the ulterior designs of all anti-democratic and “disgusting conspirators”.
Sharjeel said the alliance of non-democratic elements had proved they did not have roots among the masses. “These elements grow up in periods of dictatorship and democracy does not set well with them,” said the minister.
He said whoever would get indulged in conspiracies to harm unity of the country would not be forgiven by the history. The minister said the PPP would announce its future strategy at a grand ceremony at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh where the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would also address the historic gathering.
The provincial minister said the conspiracies were fabricated as well as vilification was also being done against his party by launching a negative propaganda. But, the opponent of PPP would be defeated in the next general election, he claimed.
Responding to a question, the information minister said religious institutions were quite different to manage the affairs of the state.
“Today we are facing all challenges. These things are products of black eras of dictatorship,” he said.
The provincial minister said when democracy would run smoothly all the institutions would be able to play their role to strengthen integrity and unity of the country.
About a large public gathering, the PML-Chief Pir Pagara recently held in Hyderabad, Sharjeel said he had a great respect for the spiritual leader of Hur movement.
“The Functional League did not hold a political public meeting in Hyderabad. It was a spiritual gathering of his followers,” claimed the PPP leader.
