Pakistan, India famous cricket controversies

After a gap of five years, the cricketing ties between arch rivals India and Pakistan is going to resume on Tuesday. The stress and tension level goes remarkably up during the match between India and Pakistan. The India-Pakistan games are also famous for the controversies created in the past. Let’s reminisce the famous past incidents which we talk in the present times as well.
1992, Sydney:
India and Pakistan met for the first time in the 1992 World Cup match in Australia. The spectators at the ground were feeling lot of tension during that game. Javed Miandad was batting from one end and India was getting desperate to get him out. Team India players were appealing for the wicket whenever they sensed the opportunity. Miandad got agitated on excessive appealing and complained to the umpire. Despite, the appeal and sledging continued from Team India members. Frustrated over the incident, Miandad started mimicking over wicket-keeper Kiran More’s continuous appeal. His act became very famous.
1996, Bangalore:
India and Pakistan were due to meet in quarter-final game at Bengaluru in World Cup 1996. It was a high voltage match as the team losing the game would have to get out from the World Cup campaign. Batting first, India set a target of 287 to Pakistan. In reply, opener Aamir Sohail was batting fluently from one end. He smashed two consecutive boundaries off the bowling of pacer Venkatesh Prasad. After hitting the fours, Sohail mockingly signalled Prasad to fetch the ball from the boundary. Prasad was successful in bowling Sohail out on the very next delivery.
1997, Toronto:
No one can ever forget the incident during the Sahara Cup game played at Toronto when Pakistani batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq entered the spectator wing to fight an Indian supporter. Inzamam was fielding on the boundary when an India supporter sledged on his growing weight. The comment was too tough to handle for Inzamam. Holding his bat, he went inside the wing to beat up the supporter but the security staff intervened at the right time. The spectator was poking Inzamam by addressing him “Aaloo”. Later, Inzamam was banned to play next two games.
1998, Dhaka:
During the third-final played between India and Pakistan in the Independence Cup in Dhaka, Indian team was chasing a total of 315. At the end of innings, India was in a position to win the game when umpires decided to stop the game due to bad light. All the members of Pakistani team and umpire left the field but the Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin who was on the crease at that time refused to leave the field till the opponents came back to the field. In the end, Hrishikesh Kanitkar hit four to win the game for India.
2006, Peshawar:
During the first One-Day International match played at Peshawar on Pakistan tour, the captain of Pakistan Inzamam-ul-Haq got run out because he collided with a player before making it to the crease. Inzamam became the third ever player to have got out after colliding with players. The dismissal became talk of the town.
2007, Kanpur:
India and Pakistan were battling for the win in the third ODI played at Kanpur. Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi entered into a verbal duel during the match. Gambhir and Sehwag were scoring a lot off the deliveries of Afridi. While Gambhir was taking a run, Afridi bumped into him. They entered into heated discussion and it was sorted out only when the umpires intervened.
