Bangladeshi umpires Nadir Shah and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat will go through fresh investigations after the previous committee did not submit a report to the BCB within the stipulated time. The pair was investigated for allegations of “corrupt conduct” levied by an Indian news channel that conducted a sting operation and was shown on TV last October. “As the earlier committee did not provide us with any report, we are thinking of launching a new investigation,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told Dhaka-based newspaper New Age. “‘All I can say is that we will do everything according to the ICC’s Anti-Corruption guideline.” Nadir and Sharfuddoula will now be probed by a new committee though a timeframe has not been announced. The previous one led by Sirajuddin Alamgir had to be disbanded as the BCB’s board of directors made way for an ad hoc body in November after its term ended.
