A high level committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House on Wednesday approved the promotion of 33 officers belonging to various Occupational Groups to BPS-22.
The promoted officers include Secretary Information Rashid Ahmad and IG Sindh Fayyaz Ahmad Leghari.
Other officers of BPS-21 who have been promoted to BPS-22 are Malik Abdus Samad, Ansar Javed, Shahid Rahim Shaikh, Arif Ikram, Abdul Wadood Shah, Ahsan Raja, Abid Saeed, Naveed Akram Cheema, Nasir Hayat, Jamil Amjad, Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Shahidullah Baig, Agha Nadeem, Sajjad Saleem Hothiana, Muhammad Shehzad Arbab, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, Hasan Nawaz Tarar, Seerat Asghar Jora, Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, Munir Qureshi, Rasheed Ahmad, Manzoor Ali Khan, Naveed Salimi, Rukhsana Shah, Shama Ehsan Khan, Ahmad Rasool Bangash, Tanvir Ahmad, Tahir Saeed, Abdul Malik Abdullah, Syed Hasan Javed, Ikramullah Masood and Noor Muhammad Jadmani.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the PM said the officers have been promoted strictly on the basis of merit, performance and seniority in line with rules and regulations. These officers got their promotions after a long wait of almost 9 months. The last meeting of the committee was held on April 12, 2012.
