Prisons Minister Manzoor Wassan on Monday said the central jail of Karachi was under threat of a major terrorist attack during Christmas and new-year celebrations. The minister revealed that criminals could carry out a major assault on the jail in an attempt to free more than 50 inmates belonging to banned outfits. “We are deploying personnel of Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Constabulary to beef up security at the central jail,” Wassan said.
