Sindhi separatist organisations on Monday refused Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) call to continue the struggle for an independent Sindh in an Islamic way. In response to TTP’s call, separatists in Sindh and Balochistan refused to continue their struggle for a separate state as per the desires of the TTP. The Sindhu Desh Liberation Army (SDLA), an armed group of Sindhi nationalists fighting for an independent Sindh, vowed to wipe out Islamic terrorism from the country. SDLA spokesman said Sindhi separatists were secular and would not follow the instructions of Islamic militants. “The SDLA will follow its secular policies during its armed struggle for ‘Sindhu Desh’ and will not follow the instruction of any Islamic militant group,” he said. Earlier, TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan had called out to the separatist armed movements in Balochistan and Sindh, urging them to continue their struggle in an Islamic way. “I urge the leaders of the nationalist parties in Balochistan and Sindh, like Baloch Liberation Army and Sindhu Desh Liberation Army, to fight for their rights in an Islamic way,” TTP spokesman said in a statement last month.
