PPP Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo on Sunday dubbed Tahirul Qadri’s statement at a public address here as inappropriate and a ‘negation of democracy’. Addressing a press conference at the Governor’s House, Wattoo said the slogan of “first accountability then elections” was an overused one and it had been chanted by dictators in the past. He said not holding of elections was also an unconstitutional act and said it was illogical not to hold elections on the pretext of law and order. Wattoo said Awami National Party leader Bashir Bilour had given a message by embracing martyrdom that all should rise together to root out terrorism.
