Bashir’s death a loss for entire nation

Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali has termed the demise of Bashir Ahmed Bilour as a loss for the entire nation. Reacting to the assassination of his party’s provincial president, he vowed to continue the fight against “the terrorist mindset”. “ANP is rendering sacrifices for this land,” Wali said, stressing that all the political forces will have to unite and evolve a joint strategy to eliminate the menace of terrorism. Remembering Bilour as a brave man, Wali said the two of them had spent time in jail together and shared a strong bond. “He wanted to die fighting,” said Wali.

Bilour’s death a national loss

President Asif Zardari said Bashir Bilour’s death was a national loss. In his condolence message, Zardari said that Bashir Bilor will always be remembered as a martyr who never flinched in the fight against militancy. He said that even in dying, Bashir Bilor had rendered a service by strengthening the national resolve to fight the bigots and extremists to the finish.

Bilour’s killing regrettable

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Bashir Bilour in a suicide attack, saying the killing of the ANP leader was regrettable. In his condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and for strength to the bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude.

Terrorists cannot deter the nation

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said that terrorists could not deter the nation with their dastardly acts. Khan, in his condolence message, said Bilour was a brave politician and was not afraid of death threats from terrorists. “Bashir Bilour’s struggle against terrorism will always be remembered,” Imran added.

Terrorists cannot succeed

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that terrorists could not succeed in their nefarious designs by indulging in such cowardly acts.He said Bashir Bilour’s sacrifice will not go in vain and the government will continue to fight the terrorists with more resolve and determination.

Coward attempt to frighten a brave nation

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari termed the attack on Bashir Bilour another cowardly attempt by the terrorists hiding in holes to frighten our brave nation. He said the entire country would fight against these terrorist elements together and purge the society of this cancer of extremism. “My thoughts and prayers go out to Bashir Bilour’s family, whose pain is my pain and whose grief should be this whole nation’s grief.”

My brother wanted to die a martyr

Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, brother of Bashir Ahmed Bilour, vowed that such acts will not hamper those who stood against terrorism and their struggle against militancy will continue. He said his brother was a brave man who wanted to die as a martyr. Expressing grief, he said it was not only the party’s loss but a great loss for the entire nation. He pledged that he would not bow before the militants and would continue to fight against terrorism.

Bilour died fighting terror

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Bashir Bilour lost his life fighting against terrorism. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of Bashir Bilour and other ANP workers who were killed in the blast, the information minister said, “It is a very unfortunate and tragic incident”. He said Bilour was a brave man and a great political leader.

MQM stands with ANP in its hour of grief

MQM chief Altaf Hussain said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement stood with ANP workers and Bashir Bilour’s family in condemning the attack and asked MQM workers to show solidarity with ANP in this moment of grief. He asked his workers to hoist black flags outside their homes and shops for three day to express their grief and asked his workers to ensure peace in respect of the departed soul.

Terrorists want to lead us into darkness

ANP Senator Zahid Khan said the terrorists wanted to lead the country towards darkness, adding that Bashir Bilour’s death was a great loss not only for ANP but for the whole nation.

Must eliminate terrorist strongholds

KP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said such attacks could not stop them from speaking the truth. “Terrorists have penetrated into our homes and streets. “We must eliminate their strongholds in North and South Waziristan to finish the menace they have created,” said the minister. Hussain said that Bilour had sacrificed himself for the country.

Bilour sacrificed life fighting terrorism

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the bomb blast in Peshawar and expressed grief over the loss of precious lives, including KP Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour. In a message, the CM while condoling the bereaved families, prayed for the departed souls and early recovery of the injured. He said that Bilour had sacrificed his life fighting terrorism.
