A 28-year-old woman committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in Green Town on Saturday.
Shama, mother of two, had reportedly been under distress due her poor financial conditions. After her divorce last year, she married Irfan three month ago. The deceased’s body was taken to the morgue for post-mortem. Seperately, 30-year-old Asma, a mother of three, was murdered in her sleep on Saturday in Shalimar Town. Per reports, her sister, Saima was spending the night at her house when she heard screams from her sister’s room. When she woke up, she saw four men leaving her sister’s room, and recognised one of them as Irfan. Meanwhile, police filed an FIR against Irfan and three unidentified men. The station house officer (SHO) Shalimar said he had taken the body to the morgue for post-mortem. He also said that the victim’s husband, Safdar, was already in prison for possession of hashish.
