Security measures for SC building finalised

ISLAMABAD – Authorities on Saturday finalised a number of security measures, including provision of extra jammers to be installed at the entry points of the Supreme Court building. A high-level meeting was held at the Supreme Court chaired by the SC registrar to review security arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Ministry of Interior additional secretary, Crisis Management Cell director general, Ministry of Interior officials, DIGs security and operations of the Islamabad Police, Islamabad deputy commissioner and SP security of the Supreme Court building.
It was decided that security cameras would cover the proceedings in Court Room No 1 and entry in court rooms one and five would be regulated through special passes. The meeting decided that advocates shall enter through a small grill gate as per normal routine, while the general public would be subjected to proper search through prescribed procedure of passing through security gadgets at the outer gate, body search, frisking at main entry gate and scanning of books through scanners.
The SP security would ensure that extra jammers were arranged through the Special Branch. SC officials would assist the police at PM Secretariat Chowk, as well as Cabinet Secretariat checkposts and outside Court Room No 1 and No 5, as per routine. It was also decided that no one would be allowed to bring mobile phones inside court rooms.
