Imran foresees Egypt-like revolution in Pakistan, asks rulers to pack up

FAISALABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that an Egypt-like revolution is imminent in Pakistan, asking the rulers to pack up and leave. He was addressing his party workers at Municipal Stadium. The PTI leader who has repeatedly spoken against the political alliance between PPP and PML-N said Nawaz Sharif and his party are not inclined to hold Asif Ali Zardari or his party accountable owing to their mutual interests.
“The masses are drowning in the ocean of the price hike and inflation caused by the corruption of the ruling elite,” said Imran Khan. Dubbing Nawaz Sharif as a Mughal emperor of Raiwind, Imran said he paid only Rs 5,000 tax last year whereas his ‘brother’ Asif Ali Zardari did not pay any tax at all,” he said.
Imran disclosed mind boggling statistics of institutional corruption in Pakistan in his speech. “During the tenure of the current government there is a corruption of Rs 80 billion in PIA, Rs 30 billion in Pakistan Steel Mills, Rs 200 billion in WAPDA and Rs 500 billion per anum in FBR,” he said.
Imran Khan regretted that during last three years Pakistan’s foreign debts have doubled. Comparing the current national economy with the past years, he said in the first 60 years since the creation of Pakistan we had a total foreign debt of Rs 450 billion whereas the figures have reached Rs 900 billion in the last three years. “The future of new generation of Pakistan will remain bleak as long as the cancer of corruption is not eradicated from the country,” he said.
“We can make no progress until a system of judicial and economic justice is introduced in the society,” he said. He said, “The suicide of the widow of a Pakistani murdered by Raymond Davis is testifies the fact that the government has surrendered its sovereignty to America”. He said the man who murdered three Pakistanis is being ptotected by the government through lame excuses of diplomatic immunity.
Speaking about the military operations in Northern areas, he said, “America has juxtaposed our army against our own people”. He regretted that the innocent civilians are being slaughtered in the Drone attacks. Imran said the tax collected from the poor is being spent on the luxuries of the ruling elite. He said the rich should also pay their taxes and the money generated through these taxes must be spent on the welfare of the poor.
Disclosing the salient features of the PTI manifesto, he said he is campaigning for a uniform education system in the country where there must be an employment opportunities for all citizens. He expressed his determination and said: “No one else except Imran Khan will do it.” During his lengthy address, he said “It is our mission to uphold the image and esteem of Green Passport in the comity of nations.”
Earlier, PTI Jhang Chief organiser Aftab Afgan delivered a welcome speech. Imran Khan was warmly welcomed by a cheering crowd of thousands of people at Chinot Morre from where he was taken to the Municipal Stadium Jhang in a rally. DCO lauds role of citizens, police on Eid Milad: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq has lauded the role of security agencies, religious leaders, ulema and the members of civil society for the peaceful observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
“The credit for a successful administrative and security arrangements for the peaceful observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) goes to the ulema, traders, media and the general public who played their role in supporting the security agencies and the district government,” he said. During meeting with various delegations of the citizens, he said the district administration had made stringent security arrangements on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
He also lauded the efforts of police force for implementing the security plan effectively to keep the law and order situation under control. He thanked all the segments of the society for cooperation and said the people of Faisalabad were peace-loving and had always played their due role for promoting religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood side by side with the district administration. He hoped this zeal and passion by the ulema and citizens would continue in future to promote the sentiments of love, unity and fraternity for a durable peace.
The DCO expressed his commitment that all-out efforts would continue to maintain peace and provision of every possible relief to the citizens. The delegations appreciated the administrative qualities and services of the DCO for providing a peaceful atmosphere to the citizens and initiating a number of uplift projects in the city.
Meanwhile, DCO Naseem Sadiq remained active on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) to monitor the security arrangements for the protection of processions. EDO(R) Liaquat Ali Chattha, Senior Administration Officer Khalid Manzur and other officers also accompanied him. He inspected different routes. He also visited sensitive areas such as Chowk Ghanta Ghar and Goal Masjid, Ghulam Muhammad Abad, to supervise security affairs.
KITE FLYING BANNED: DCO Naseem Sadiq, who is also the administrator of the city district government, has imposed a ban on kite-flying, manufacturing and sale as well as use of metallic or chemical twine in the revenue limit of Faisalabad district. Meanwhile, the DCO directed the officers concerned to continue the operation against those involved in manufacturing and selling the kite-flying material.
Four women, seven men arrested for obscenity: Civil Lines police raided a hotel after a tip off and arrested four women and seven men on the charge of obscenity. Civil Lines Sub Inspector Siddique Ahmed Cheema, on a tip off, raided National Hotel, Sargodha Road, along with a police team, and arrested four women and seven men red handed while having sex.
Those arrested were Kausar, Shazia, Shamaila and Saba along with Amer Ali, Naveed, Ghulam Mustafa, Hassan, Zahid, Rashid and Nadeem.
