The Rawalpindi Transport Authority (RTA) began a crackdown against public transport vehicles with more than two CNG cylinders, following the new government policy.
On the directives of Rawalpindi DCO Saqib Zafar, RTA Secretary Ajmal Bukhari directed public transporters to fix both cylinders to the boot of their vehicles and said that all extra cylinders would be confiscated and the transporters would be fined.
All Pakistan Public Transport Workers Union Chairman Haji Zahoor Ahmed, President Abdul Rasheed Gondal, Vice President Orangzaib Rathor and Secretary General Dilawar Gardezi condemned the new policy and said that installing two cylinders in the boot of the vehicles would be dangerous for commuters as the cylinders could blow up there.
