Car thefts are on the rise in the city despite the installation of high security measures in the city. According to details, four citizens were deprived from their cars in different areas of Rawalpindi here the other day. In the area of Wah Cantt Adeel Ahmad’s car bearing the registration number 2798 was stolen, while another car numbered IK 715 belonging to Adil was stolen in the area of Westridge Police Station. In another incident, in the area of New Town Police Station, Khurram Shahzad’s car was stolen by unknown criminals.
Similarly, a car bearing the registration number IDM 7004 belonging to Tahir Bashir was also stolen by unidentified car snatchers.
