NADRA to open executive office in KIA

NADRA would commission an Executive Office at Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) in order to facilitate association’s members and industrialists.
Sindh NADRA Director General Brig. (Rtd) Jawed Iqbal Khan in a meeting with KATI’s office bearers and members on Tuesday said that executive office of NADRA would be opened at (Korangi Industrial Area) KIA with the assistance of KATI. Brig Jawed announced to register KATI’s nominee as attester for issuance of national identity cards.
He said that NADRA operates centres at allocations which are viable and added that trade and industry was the most important segment of the economy. He said that Smart Cards introduced by NADRA was a third generation document with 36 security features. He said that state of the art Smart National ID Cards would provide hi-tech solutions. He said that the cards would be chip based identity cards; designed to fulfill all needs through latest technology features. He said that the cards would also store data. Muneer, said that “the working of almost every government functionary was deteriorating, however, NADRA is an exception which has become state-of-the-art department”.
KATI Chairman, Mohammad Zubair Chhaya hoped that delivery of NADRA cards would be outsourced to courier services for card deliveries at the applicant’s doorstep after verification of the address. He also suggested to the NADRA DG to depute some liaison officer to assist KATI members.
NADRA Smart cards would bedirectly connected to central database of NADRA and holders of Smart NIC would be granted life insurance for upto two years. There are plans to incoporate facilities such as biometrics, e-tag on motorway tolls, emergency relief in disasters, driving licenses, weapon licenses, passport, school cards, health cards and electronic voting un the cards. The cards would be usded to access cash disbursement programs, branchless banking and financial transactions.
