Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has refused to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a case pertaining to the implementation of the controversial National Reconciliation Ordinance, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
NAB had summoned the former prime minister on the directives of the Supreme Court for appointing his friend Adnan A Khwaja as managing director of the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited in September 2010 in violation of rules. The channel said Khwaja was not eligible to be appointed for any government office as he had been convicted in a case. However, he was given relief under the NRO and was given the key post in the OGDCL. The Supreme Court had declared Khwaja’s appointment as null and void. In this respect, Gilani’s counsel said the constitution awarded immunity to him, who had been summoned by the NAB to record his statement in the case on December 11. Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Fawwad Chaudhry, who also held the post when Gilani was in office, had stated that under Article 248 of the constitution no court proceedings could be held against the president, prime minister, governors and ministers.

  1. Why is gillani above the law? The scum bag was more corrupt than zardari and I would not be surprised to find out that he was doing bb while zardari was in jail. Maybe he should send his goodwill ambassador Batool to the judges and see if she can do her goodwill magic and get him out of this mess. I bet she has the talent to do so.

  2. If refuses to appear, some one must shove a very thick ROD (a Sarya) up his A**S **S and keep pushing it till he bleeds and sarya comes out of his mouth.

  3. Pakistan teray baap ka hy jo tu NAB ky samnay nae aay ga? tu ny paisa kia apnay baap ka khaya hy c.h.u.t.i.a.y?
