KARACHI – The police and Rangers have taken extensive measures to control the law and order situation and prevent any act of terrorism during the Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) celebrations in the city today (Wednesday).
According to a survey conducted in the metropolis on Tuesday, police and Rangers personnel have been deployed at all sensitive areas in the city where people are expected to gather in large numbers. The law enforcers are also conducting snap checking at various locations including rally routes and near Nishtar Park where a general public meeting is scheduled after Asr prayers.
Security personnel have been posted in and around Nishtar Park and all workers engaged in the arrangements for the public gathering are only being allowed to enter its premises after proper screening. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials and sniffer dogs are also assisting the Rangers law enforcers detect explosive material at the MA Jinnah Road.
“At least 5,500 policemen will be deployed in the city for the Eid Miladun Nabi,” said an official of Central Police Office. The Jamaat-e-Alhe-Sunnat, Karachi Chapter has announced that the central rally today will start after Zuhr prayers at 3pm from New Memon Masjid, Boulton Market, led by Allama Syed Shah Turabul Haq Qadri, and culminate at the Nishtar Park, where ulema will address the public.
