Senate body to summon CEO, KESC by 7th

Senate standing committee on Water and Power is likely to introduce some important and strong decisions regarding the Chief Executive Office Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) Tabish Gohar who refused to appear before the committee and sought stay order against the committee through Sindh High Court (SHC), Pakistan Today has learnt through reliable sources.
According to details the members of the Senate body on water and power would meet by December 07 (Friday) here at Parliament House to review the situation after the continues disgrace being posed by the CEO KESC towards the body.
Chairman Senate Standing Committee, Senator Zahid Khan, while talking to Pakistan Today said that he came to know that CEO KESC, Tabish Gohar has contacted the Sindh High Court against the committee, who summoned him.
Senator Zahid Khan said that he heard that CEO, KESC Tabish Gohar has introduced a stance in hearing of the SHC that Senate body is not eligible to summon any government official and he would not appear before the committee which was wrong approach. However, he added that he respects the decision of the SHC. Elaborating further Khan added that Committee has served the Tabish Gohar with many notices which were not paid with the due attention and CEO KESC did not appear before the committee. To a question regarding future strategy, Chairman Senate Standing Committee told that committee would chalk out a strategy to the coming sitting of the body, and CEO KESC is called again in the coming sitting of the committee.
It is pertinent to mention here that Senate body has issued number of notices to the CEO KESC which were not considered, latter on body also issued arrest warrants, to which Tabish Gohar contacted the SHC that issued stay in the case.
