The traffic police during city wide operation against second-rate Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cylinders installed in vehicles took into custody more than 200 buses on Tuesday.
According to details, the traffic police while following court directives conducted operations in the areas of Saddar, MA Jinnah Road and adjoining areas to check the gas cylinders installed in vehicles. During the operation more than 200 buses having substandard gas cylinders were taken into custody by the police.
The officer in charge said that the operation would continue till the entire city was cleared of vehicles having shoddy gas cylinders.
Meanwhile, the citizens have lauded the traffic police action and demanded the court and authorities concerned to widen the operation to other districts of the province.
It should be mentioned here that CNG cylinders blasts have become a routine occurrence which have often claimed several lives besides critically injuring many others.
Good work of police must be appreciated at all levels. People of this country wants the police system to function in its true spirit.
