‘PTI’s intra-party polls to uproot rotten political culture’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said PTI polls would provide the country with a new and thriving political tradition which has been overlooked by leaders of the major political parties.
Addressing a meeting with the party members, Khan announced that the successful first phase of PTI polls was a new chapter in the country’s history. “These are the first ever intra-party elections to be held in the entire subcontinent, smashing the negative traditions of nominating the party office-bearers by the dictatorial party heads,” he said.
He further said, “It is for the first time that the voters can exercise their right to vote through modern gadgets and information technology, paving the way for a new, transparent system of voting where the voters are able to choose their leadership without any fear.”
Khan added that the current rulers had come to power several times by making false promises of creating a new Pakistan, but had always failed to deliver. He said that PTI was a party of and for the people of the country.
The PTI leader further said that the party would only give election tickets to party members on merit and that all party members would have to comply with the rules of the party to create a new Pakistan.
Reiterating that PTI would bring a tsunami to the political structures of Pakistan, he said that PTI would bring a new local bodies system and rid the country of corruption.
He said that he was confident in PTI’s success in the upcoming elections and said that he looked forward to meeting the challenges that PTI would face while bringing the much-needed change.
“We have not attained this success easily. The holding of elections reflects the commitment of the party leadership with true democratic traditions and the will to hold on to the party’s ideology against all odds,” the PTI chairman added.
