Nazim (Head) of Jamia Naimia, Maulana Raghib Hussain Naimi urged parents and teachers to sensitize youth about epidemics and transferable diseases. Naimi on World AIDS Day 2012 said that it was necessary to teach children hitting puberty about prevention from sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis. He said that “it is extremely crucial to take our children into confidence.” He said that sexual knowledge should be inculcated to the youth in a garb of decency and added that it was also important to warn them against strategies of sexual predators. He said that a lack of exposure and innocence resulted in many a children becoming fodder of paedophiles and chronic sexual offenders. Naimi said that it was also necessary to verse the populace that HIV/AIDS and hepatitis could also be transferred from one person for reasons other than sexual promiscuity.
