LAHORE – Eid Milad un Nabi is set to be celebrated with enthusiasm and solemnity today (Wednesday). Special activities including reciting of the Holy Quran, Mehfil-i-Naat and special prayers have been arranged. Several hundred processions will be taken out in the city to mark the birthday of The Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The provincial metropolis wore a festive look on Tuesday, as thousands of devotees in their respective areas remained busy to decorate and illuminate mosques, seminaries, houses, markets, bazaars and streets till late at night. Religious, political and social organizations have set up camps in different areas of the city to welcome the Milad processions.
Procession routes were decorated with welcoming banners, buntings and flickering lights. Children are all set to make “Paharian” in front of their houses where as usual they would exhibit their variety of toys and their potential to nicely arrange them. Women have arranged Milad Mehfils in order to commemorate the joyous occasion of the birth of Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The 27th international Milad un Nabbi conference of Minhaj-ul -Quran started last night at Minar-i-Pakistan between the intervening night of the 11th and 12th of Rabi-al Awal. Hundreds of thousands people were present on the occasion. Dawat-i-Islami also organized six Milad congregations at different places including Baba Ground, near Civil Secretariat and Lower Mall.
Markazi Milad Committee took out torch bearing procession from Data Darbar to Regal Chowk after Magrib prayer on Tuesday. Syed Mukhtar Ashraf Rizvi and other prominent personalities lead the procession. Like every year, the Markazi Committee for Taqrebat-i-Jashn-i-Eid Milad-un-Nabi is organizing the main Milad procession Railway Station. People are expected to attend the event.
All arrangements in this regard have been completed. Before the procession sets out, a contingent of disciplined forces will hold March past. At least 50 processions from different areas will join the main procession from different spots on the route.
