A petition was filed in the Sindh high Court (SHC) to protest the death of a man who fell to his death from eight floor of the State Life Building after hanging in mid air for 20 minutes to escape fire.
The young lad was present at the eight story of the State Life building to appear for a job interview when the fire broke out. To save his life, he climbed out of the window and hanged by grabbing a window pane for at least 20 minutes. However he then fell to the ground and was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The petition accuses the authorities of not being of aid to the deceased even though he hung before their eyes in broad day light. The petition underscored the fact that rescue teams were not carrying jumping sheets at the venue.
