A sumptuous Korean Food Festival was held at Defense Country and Golf Club on Tuesday. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea hosted the Korean Food Festival and flew in two renowned chefs from Korea for the event. Chef Sang-chul HAN (Master in Food Service) and Chef Moo-sub KIM arrived in Karachi to participate in the Korean Food Festival. About 500 guests were feted with a wide range of healthy food and the culture of Korea. The people appreciated the taste of the delicious food and hailed the gifted nature and unique culture of the Korean people.
Korean cuisine offers a wide range of tastes and styles. Most Korean foods are made with all natural ingredients like soybean paste, soy source and red pepper powder.
However, the most important ingredient is devotion as Koreans believe that preparing a truly delicious meal requires care and dedication. The food festival provided Karachiites an opportunity to experience and to get better acquainted with Korean culture and is yet another milestone in strengthening the friendship between the people of Pakistan and Korea.
The festival was a well-appreciated effort at sharing Korea’s rich and unique culture and discovering the rich flavors of Korean cuisine.
According to Korean belief, creating and eating good food is a work of art and provides a glimpse of heaven. Korea has unique traditions devoted to preparing food right from growing ingredients, cooking, table setting, and consumption.
Furthermore, Korean food features the community spirit, nature friendly philosophy, and humanism of the Korean people. Perhaps, this is the reason why Korean food could now be enjoyed in many countries and people from all over the world have been falling in love with Korean cuisine.
Consul General of Korea In-ki LEE said that next year would mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Pakistan and the Korean Consulate and Korean embassy in Islamabad have been planning to organize various cultural events to commemorate the event.
The food festival has been arranged with the full support of Korean Ambassador Choong-joo Choi and the Korean Government.
Apart from the food festival, a chorus comprising of 30 Korean ladies and gentlemen sang several traditional songs and made the event special.
