Legal fraternity struggled hard for restoration of judiciary: CJ

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has praised the Sargodha Bar and said that it is committed and devoted to the cause of rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of Judiciary. Talking to a 20-member delegation of Sargodha District Bar headed by its President Mr. Shams Naveed Cheema and comprising of Khurram Iqbal Basra, General Secretary Sargodha District Bar, Syed Shahid Shirazi President Shahpur Tehsil alongwith other office bearers and members, who called on him here Monday, the Chief Justice said that legal fraternity struggled hard for the achievement of their cause which reinforced the path for the restoration of judiciary in the country. The profession of law is an important and valuable profession which is respected in all societies. The Chief Justice also praised the role played by Sargodha bar during the movement. The members discussed with the Chief Justice, issues and matters of interest of the legal/judicial fraternity and thanked the Chief Justice of Pakistan for finding time from his busy schedule.
They further said that the Chief Justice is a ray of hope and he is held in high esteem by whole nation due to his professional commitments, legal acumen and dedication for the cause of supremacy of Constitution, rule of law and independence of judiciary. It was dynamic personality of the Chief Justice that attracted the people and the movement started which culminated into restoration of judiciary. Further, they discussed the problems faced by them in their professional field and requested the Chief Justice that a permanent Additional Sessions Judge at Shahpur Tehsil may be posted to hear the cases of Shahpur Tehsil.
The Chief Justice assured them to take up the matter with the concerned authority. They expressed the hope that the administration of justice needs the Chief Justice’s leadership and motivation to deliver justice to the public at large and assured to stand by the judiciary.
