President Asif Ali Zardari has directed NADRA to issue Biometrics Smart Cards to pensioners to enable them to withdraw their pension from banks‚ post offices or any other alternative channel having biometrics facility.
He was chairing a briefing on pension disbursement through smart CNIC by NADRA in Islamabad.
The President said pension disbursement through NADRA’s smart CNIC will streamline the pension disbursement system and facilitate the pensioners.
Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said key features of the programme include Biometrics Authentication through utilization of Smart Card and Automation of pension disbursement system.
