KARACHI – A reshuffle in the top slots of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was reported on Monday, as the new managing director of the national flag of his office.
It has been learnt that Captain Ilyas, a pilot, replaced Shuja Naqvi as the Director Flight Operations (DFO) while Senior General Manager (GM) Communication Captain Haroon Abdullah resigned from his position.
Similarly, former Director Administration Haneef Pathan was also re-inducted for the same slot after Chairman PIA Ahmed Mukhtar, also DefenCe Minister, extended his service for two years, while another retired employee Zafar Rajput would also be inducted as media advisor, sources informed Pakistan Today.
According to sources, Shuja Naqvi and Haroon Abdullah tendered their resignations Monday after they were directed to do so. Haneef Pathan had retired in January but he managed to get extension from Ahmed Mukhtar. It is worth mentioning that the former MD PIA did not let Pathan to resume his job as he had bypassed him for getting the extension.
Zafar Rajput, the new media advisor, has been working in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the same capacity after his retirement from PIA some two years ago. When contacted, the official spokesperson of the airlines confirmed that the resignations and said Captain Ilyas’ appointment as the new DFO would be confirmed once a notification was issued by the management.
It is pertinent to mention that the PIA has 17 directors and each of them receives Rs 2 million a month in terms of salary, while the salary of the MD is Rs 2.4 million and that of Boeing 777’s pilot is Rs 1.1 million.

I dont know from where you came up with the figure of 17 directors and this 2.4 million and 1.1 million, absolute rubbish. You also have a lot of grammatical mistakes in your article so you should hire a good proof reader to proof read your articles before you put them on your website. Thank you and please be responsible with your work. Somebody needs to write an article on how irresponsible the media is in this country. Dont even check twice before they blurt out something. how many directors and how much are their salaries? If you had correct numbers, why did you not share with us instead of writing a Friday sermon?
First off, learn to ask and write nicely instead of babbling nonsense as the one you wrote above. Now to your answer, PIA has no more than 12 directors. To confirm you can check the About page on the official site or download the annual report from the same. As far as salaries are concerned, no PIA director is getting a salary of 2 million rupees a month let alone all of them. Since salary figures are a classified matter I cannot quote you any source but you can confirm that yourself from any related PIA insider. Thanks.
