President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday endorsed the liberalized visa agreement between Pakistan and India. The two nations had already signed the visa agreement on September 8, 2012, to pave the way for greater people to people contacts and boost trade. According to the spokesman of President’s House, the main objective of the Pak-India visa agreement is to facilitate the peoples on both sides of the border. The federal cabinet had granted approval to the agreement on September 5, 2012, under which visit visas will be issued to the people intending to travel across the border for visiting their family member(s) or for any other legitimate purpose. The visit visas will be issued for a period of up to six months and will allow a trip to not more than five places. An individual on a visit visa will be allowed to stay in the visiting country no longer than 3 months
at a stretch.
