Nawaz calls for elimination of militant wings of PPP, Coalition partners

PML-N president Mian Nawaz Sharif has said if military wings of ruling PPP and its coalition partners operate in Karachi, peace will remain elusive therein.
“Supreme Court (SC) had ordered in its verdict in Karachi law and order case that the military wings of the political parties be eliminated from Karachi. But if the militant wings of PPP and it’s allied parties exist in Karachi then peace will remain elusive therein”, he said this while talking to media men here Monday.
Suicide attack on former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad was regrettable, he said adding government should take notice of such attacks.
“Government has taken no action against the terrorists during the last four years. Only statements come from the government that terrorism will be curbed but no criminal is caught. If any culprit is arrested then investigations of the case are not finalized”, he held.
Citing to Wali Khan Babar murder case, he said 6 accused persons have been arrested in this case. Government should bring them before public, he demanded.
Government is harassing the people in the guise of pillion riding and suspending mobile service , he remarked.
Condemning strongly Israeli military strikes in Gaza he said Israel had unleashed sheer barbarity through these attacks. All the Muslim countries should stand with people of Gaza in this hard time, he urged.
He appealed to UN to take notice of Israeli aggression and brutalities and adopt resolution against Israel. US role in this regard is highly inappropriate, he held.
To a question about elections in Pakistan he said electoral process in the country would also be affected due to attack on Gaza. If people want solution to their problems then they should send such leadership in the parliament, which could take decision in the national interest. If people don’t perceive it then it will be their fault, he underlined. The upcoming general elections will be a trying test for the people, he added.
