United States’ Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson on Sunday said Washington wanted strong relations with Pakistan.
“Geographically and strategically Pakistan is an important country of the region and due to this significance, we want strong relations with this country,” Olson said.
The US ambassador said the 2011 and the start of 2012 were difficult times for both countries but now they had decided to realigned the decades-old partnership.
He said US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton had offered an apology for loss of life in the Salala checkpost incident, that he called “tragic and regrettable”.
Olson said the US always helped Pakistan, adding that the assistance would continue in the future. He said Washington would continue to extend help in the field of education, health, energy and economic development.

  1. Mr. Richard Olson nice to hear from you that U.S. wants strong relations with Pakistan. But hope you will appreciate that action speaks louder than words. Just see what Pakistan has done for the U.S. imposed WOT, is more than the combined sacrifices in men and material of all the 49 NATO countries. However, in return Mr. Barack Obama has not bothered to visit Pakistan, although, he has visited Afghanistan and India and now, even went as far as, Cambodia. Hope Pakistan is not a pariah state for him.

Nevertheless, we still has a hope that in your tenure Mr. Ambassador, the US Pak relations of our partnership, will not be the type and style, which will yield the profits only for the U.S. and losses only for Pakistan.
