MA Zuberi remembered

KARACHI – The services of veteran journalist, Late MA Zuberi were remembered at a condolence reference held at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday. The speakers at the reference lauded the contribution of Mr Zuberi in the field of journalism. They said that Mr Zuberi was the pioneer of economic journalism in the country.
Mr Zuberi was also the founding member of Karachi Press Club and he also played a key role in preparation of the constitution of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists. He was also the founding member of the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors. The speakers said that Mr Zuberi was always proud to be known as a journalist instead of an owner of a newspaper.
He represented the Pakistani media abroad. He was also awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his services in Pakistani journalism. Speaking on this occasion, his son Wamiq Zuberi said that his father’s professional career can be divided in three parts. First, he served in the armed forces before partition. Later he entered the field of practical journalism and then he became an owner of a business daily when he launched his own newspaper.
Speaking on this occasion, Karachi Press Club President Tahir Hasan Khan lauded the services of Mr Zuberi and said that his death was a loss to the journalist community of the country. “We will always remember the services of MA Zuberi,” he added. Senior journalist Sarfaraz Ahmed said that Mr Zuberi spent a successful life due to his commitment towards hi profession.
