No matter humans or birds, reaction to alcohol is same by all, conclude British researchers. From the inquiry running in the last year’s incidence of several deaths of blackbirds, experts have noticed that even birds stumble around when they are under the effect of alcohol like humans. The findings have also been mentioned in the British Medical Journal’s Veterinary Record in which researchers have clearly mentioned about their discoveries over the feathered animas, whom they’ve found can get drunk off fermented berries. Yes, researchers in Britain when last year started their research in the case of deaths of a dozen blackbirds, who died after colliding in mid air, found that all the dead birds had one thing in common, they all were intoxicated with the berries that were present in their guts and smelled fermented. From the above findings, they concluded that the birds got high levels of pure alcohol in their system because of the fermented berries. Moreover, they also found a live bird on the spot of the incidence, which showed some common signs of being drunk like leaning against walls of the enclosure it was in, not able to balance itself while walking, using feathers both the sides to maintain its balance etc, which gradually improved after some days.
